Most developers have tried AI autocomplete. Far fewer have used an agentic coding assistant that reads a whole codebase, plans multi-step changes, edits across files, runs commands, and checks its own work. This course builds that exact workflow.
You'll install Claude Code in your terminal and VS Code, learn how model choice and reasoning effort affect results, and write prompts that produce usable code on the first try, all within safely configured permissions. From there you'll refactor real code, manage context across long sessions, and onboard the assistant to an existing project using a memory file so it follows your team's conventions without repeated instructions. Every non-trivial change starts with a reviewed plan, not a blind edit.
The second half is hands-on: ship a complete feature end-to-end, build reusable custom skills, connect external tools via the Model Context Protocol (including wiring up Playwright for automated browser testing), and coordinate sub-agents on larger, multi-part work.
